About Me
My name is Nicholas Carr and I’m from Southampton, PA. This is my first year at Penn State and I’m majoring in Aerospace engineering. At first I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to go for, but I had always liked math and space. It wasn’t until my junior year of high school that I found an interest in physics as well. All of that along with my admiration for NASA made it a much easier choice. Outside of school I love to play frisbee, soccer and video games. I’ve played soccer and video games for as long as I can remember. I used to play goalie but I’ve found left back to be my favorite position. Frisbee, however, is a newfound interest. It started with KanJam and evolved into ultimate frisbee with the help of my friends and the German teacher in high school. I also love to listen to music. I grew up listening to what my parents grew up with because they would constantly listen to music (and still do). No car trip is complete unless my dad names every single song that comes on the radio. My favorite band is most certainly The Beatles, although I do love Queen and Billy Joel. In the past, writing and I have not gotten along well, but I’m keeping an open mind for our first semester. I believe that as long as you keep trying and persevere you’ll achieve your goal. With that in mind, I look forward to learning and improving with everyone!
